Focusing on wellness and spiritual alignment is the natural expansion of her personal and career path. Making a positive difference in the field of Addiction and Behavioral Health by integrating leadership and spirituality through advocacy, mentorship, media database and events is her goal.
Jim Herndon, PA-C
Jim graduated from the University of Washington’s School of Medicine Physician Assistant program in 2002. Currently, Jim is the Founder of Advanced Therapeutic Services, an Intensive Outpatient Program, in Rancho Mirage, California. He currently provides medical services at three local substance abuse treatment centers, Michael’s House, Bella Monte, and Sovereign Health as a Medical Consultant. Jim started working in the field of addiction medicine at The Betty Ford Center in 2002. In 2008, Jim became Medical Director of ABC Recovery. His work there includes assisting the admissions and medical staff at ABC Recovery Center to ensure quality care for the clients.
He was published in 2005 in the ASAM Journal of Addictive Diseases, having co-authored an abstract recognizing that Buprenorphine detoxification increases patient retention in treatment. This protocol has since become a nationally recognized model for opiate detoxification.
Jim has been in recovery for the last 23 years. He has continued his work with alcoholics and addicts, accessing and treating their medical needs. He is presently opening a medical office in Rancho Mirage to offer addiction and family medicine to the local community. Our team at ATS-IOP believes that people with addiction can get well and can move forward in their lives.
